SSWYE Mentorship Program

🟣 E.M.P.O.W.E.R. H.E.R.™ MENTORSHIP PROGRAM A PATH TO SELF-CONFIDENCE

The E.M.P.O.W.E.R. H.E.R. initiative provides dedicated one-on-one and group mentoring for young girls ages 12–17. We focus intensely on academic success, building reliable support systems, life skills, self-advocacy, leadership development, and mental health resilience.

The 10 core pillars

By focusing on these 10 core pillars, we ensure young women leave our program with unshakeable self-confidence:

E – EMPOWER her to speak up and lead.

M – MOTIVATE her to follow her dreams.

P – POWER her to turn pain into purpose.

O – OWNERSHIP of her emotional well-being.

W – WORTHINESS to know she is enough.

E – ENHANCE her natural strengths and skills.

R – REASSURANCE to navigate setbacks with resilience.

H – HEALING from past trauma through self-care.

E – ENCOURAGE her to relentlessly pursue her aspirations.

R – RESILIENT mindset to face adversity fiercely.

Our Foundational Measure of Success: Everything we teach anchors back to the 4 C’s: cultivating deep Confidence, building meaningful Connection, sharpening noble Character, and fostering a dedicated Community.

🛠️ Program Components

👥 Community-Based Mentoring

Mentors meet with their assigned mentees one to two times monthly for a full one-year cycle. Together, they engage in life-skill building, community service, peer support groups, and shared positive interests like cooking, painting, and volunteering.

🏫 Site-Based Mentoring

With proper institutional consent, regular mentoring sessions take place safely at local schools, youth centers, libraries, or community hubs. These structured sessions focus on academic tutoring, team-building games, guided conversations, and healthy relationship modeling.

🌱 Workshops & Enrichment Activities

Mentees gain exclusive monthly access to our Sisterhood Circles, mental health and wellness education seminars, college/career readiness coaching, leadership development projects, and cultural field trips.

📋 Mentor Training & Support

To guarantee absolute safety and clinical excellence, all SSWYE mentors receive comprehensive training in trauma-informed care, adolescent development, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), alongside monthly peer support "huddles."
